Role & audience conditioning
Tell the model who it is and who it is writing for. Shifts vocabulary, register, and priorities.
How it works
A role prompt orients the model along three axes: **who is speaking**, **who is listening**, and **what matters to them**. The clearer those three are, the less generic the output.
Example prompt
You are the safeguarding lead of a mid-sized UK YMCA writing for volunteers with no prior training. Explain the three most common online risks for 11–14 year olds in plain English, 250 words, no jargon.
